Midnight Raider rides new setup into the history books! Jan. 5, 2010

Midnight RaiderAfter years of success behind the wheel of the Midnight Raider, Jim and Daniel Bosch put their heads together and decided it was time to put a new chassis under their Pro Modified Four Wheel Drive Chevy.  After a lot of hard work and sweat, the outcome of that new set up spoke for itself when Jim Bosch took home the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Champions Tour crown.  Their first Pro Pulling League Championship delighted the Midnight Raider team and caught the interest of fellow competitors who have placed calls to the Bosch's home in Michigan to have one of the winning pulling chassis' constructed.

The beginning of the season took some patience and effort to get the chassis dialed in, but once the set up was perfected, the Chevy was one big threat at every event the trailer rolled into.  Three wins highlighted the season for Bosch, with one of them being a big win in the Sunday session of the prestigious Indy Super Pull.  That win in Indy gave Jim Bosch the confidence he needed to finalize his run for the title.  “After the win in Indy, I started to believe that a championship could happen for us.”  The following shows after the Super Pull the Steve Schmidt powered Chevy ripped off three top three finishes in the final four events of the Champions Tour schedule.

The confidence that Bosch carries in his power source is incredible and very evident when speaking to him.“We knew that on the better tracks we had the motor to really run strong.  Our goal was to focus on being consistent on the tracks that we would not be able to put the power too.”  A quick look at the results of the season would make it hard for any one to detect which events had good tracks and the not so good as the Midnight Raider settled for nothing but solid results, finishing out of the top eight only once the entire season. Keep in mind the Pro Modified Four Wheel Drive class had an average of more then twenty trucks on the Champions Tour.

Jim Bosch drawls a lot of confidence from the support system he has on and off the circuit in Michigan.  Jim's son Daniel has become a very good driver of his own, and he also has a strong understanding of the mechanical aspects of the sport.  “Dan is a big member of my crew. He helps with every aspect of the team and is really becoming a good driver,” added Bosch.  The Midnight Raider team is also lucky to have, as Jim likes to say, the best teacher in the state of Michigan...his daughter Jamie.  “Jamie is unable to make it to every pull, but the pulls she comes to she is right there willing to help with anything we need.”  Finally, Jim has the watchful eye and support of his wife, Lori, who is there for the ups and downs of the road and competition.  One can understand with all of the support why Jim Bosch has had such success behind the wheel of his Chevy.

As Jim Bosch stood in front of his classmates at the banquet, one could tell just how proud he was to be the champion of the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Champions Tour.  “ It truly is a privilege to face off against the greatest competitors on the circuit at each event.  I really appreciate being able to compete with the Pro Pulling League and thank the sponsors that support our Champions Tour.”  In the beginning of the season Jim Bosch did not know what the future held for his truck and new set up, but the outcome was one he would not change for anything.

On the horizon for the Midnight Raider team is the task of working with their tire setup.  They love their power plant. They love their chassis. Now it is time to start to tweak other aspects of their program that will help find a few more feet or even inches on the track.  The future looks bright and a title defense is certainly something the man from Michigan will be shooting for in 2010.
