Don Masterson

Charlestown, Indiana (October 1, 2018 ) - With the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League pulling season in the rear-view mirror, we take time to reflect on the class champions that entertained us throughout the season. We lead off our conversation with one of true legends of the sport, Don Masterson, who laid claim to the FASS Pro Stock Tractor Championship on the fabled Tinker Toy John Deere.

Masterson began the season with a bit of a slow start but by the time the Rumble by the Refuge hook in Mound City, Missouri came around Don was in top form, taking the first session win and solid fifth in the second session. Don would go on to claim 10 top-five finishes in the final 12 hooks after Mound City and managed to fend off the advances of youngster Jack Wischmeier on the Barely Gettin’ By John Deere and another pulling legend, Rob Russell piloting his Workhorse Pro CaseIH. A second place finish at the Pro Pulling Nationals in Wheatland, Missouri sealed the deal for Masterson, offering him a comfortable 25 point lead in the final points tally.

Congratulations Don on your 2018 FASS Pro Stock Tractor Championship!
