Charlestown, IN (October 21st, 2020) – The Super Farm Tractor division has a history of intense competition and epic points battles. The clash for the Super Farm championship in the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League was amplified for 2020 due to a shortened season and an unheard-of three-way tie coming into the season finale Pro Pulling Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.
Defending class champion Chuck Guenterberg and his Positive Ground International were tied with Josh Miley and his High Maintenan$e CaseIH and Shane Masten aboard his Thumpin Pumpkin AGCO. Several other pullers were in striking distance of the top spot, creating an unreal sense of urgency to claim the class title.
In that final battle Jeremy Roberts and his Wicked Whitetail Deere led the class off with 330 foot run that would stand for the event win, also putting him into the ever-changing title picture that would be decided at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks. Miley was fourth hook and laid claim to the second spot with Guenterberg and Masten still left to make shots at the track. Less than six inches would separate Miley and Masten, with Masten in the second points position until Shawn Boyd and the Screamin’ Norwegian CaseIH (324.540) threaded the needle between Miley (324.7) and Masten (324.250) to separate two of the top players in the class. Guenterberg’s run on the next-to-last hook put him in sixth place for the evening. Once the dust had settled and points had been tabulated, Miley was declared the 2020 Super Farm Tractor Champion. Roberts and Masten would finish tied for second with Robert’s season win-total garnering him the edge for second. Guenterberg would finish fourth in points, while Travis and Scott Christ’s Just 4 Fun IH secured fifth place points with a fifth at Wheatland.
In a group of ultra-tough competitors Miley’s title run was set apart with timely top finishes. The Francisco, Indiana native led off the season with the class win in Greentown, Indiana at the Watson Diesel Nationals followed up with a seventh at the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza. That second place in Wheatland and a twelve-point differential between first and fifth spots in the final points standings proved once again that pulling is a game of inches and every hook counts!
Congratulations Josh on your run to the 2020 Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Super Farm Championship!
