America’s Pull Serves Up A Fantastic Night of Pulling Action

Charlestown, IN (July 21st, 2021) – America’s Pull, held annually at the Marshall-Putnam Fair in Henry, Illinois, has solidified itself as an important stop in the world of truck and tractor pulling built on a multi-decade history of outstanding competition and overflowing crowds witnessing the action. 2021, coming off the 2020 season that saw America’s Pull canceled, was charged with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to get back to the hallowed grounds in Henry; in turn, fans flocked to the track and a massive group of pullers gathered across six classes to renew the event.

Henry continued it’s twin-track format with a stable of Bungart X-Factor sleds set to test the limits of pullers. The first class on the pit-side track was the ARP Lightweight Super Stock Tractor division with twenty of the best machines in the nation facing off against the Protect the Harvest X-Factor. Colton Whitworth and the NK Yield Express Deere took the win on a late pass to 352.46, besting the effort of Jacob Fuqua on the Tennessee Tracks IH in second at 351.66.

The grandstand track was patrolled by the RhinoAg X-Factor. Competition on that track began with Limited Pro Stock Tractors pulling for Silver Series points. Sixteen tractors roared down the track with Quinton Hartmann and the International Addiction IH taking the early lead and holding it until the last hook of the class when Chad Russell and the Shoot to Thrill Deere got by Hartmann by a scant .13 of a foot, 341.14 to 341.01, for the win.

Following up the exciting Lightweight Super Stocks on the pit-side track were the Summit Racing Mini Rods, bringing their own brand of excitement and high-stakes action. The Lucas Oil Mini X-Factor held the nineteen entries in check for the evening in Henry. Reese Shelton’s ballistic pass to 387.28 halfway through the class bested all attempts to surpass him, with Abbey Leischner on the Bobcat Jr. in second at 374.05

Twenty-six Optima Batteries Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks were staged and primed for action on the grandstand track in Henry. RJ Simon and the Simon Sez Dodge thrilled the crowd with a late pass to 369.72 that was fourteen feet ahead of the second place Cornfield Cruiser entry of Mitchell Phipps.

The massive Big River Steel Super Modified Tractors shook the pit-side track to finish out competition on that track. Austin Boyd and the Lucas Oil Green Streak Limited roared to the class win at 360.87 on the next-to-last pass, besting his father Greg Boyd’s run to 357.95 on the Lucas Oil Green Streak.

Finishing off the evening on the grandstand track and for the event were the ARP Super Stock Diesel Trucks with 15 top-flight entries. Erik Stacey and the SmokinYA Chevrolet (in our featured photo) shook up the order on a late run for the win 344.18 to the 340.99 posted by Brion Withrow in the Nut Job Chevrolet midway through the class.

Champions Tour action takes a short break for the weekend of 7-23 to 7/25, with action roaring back to life on Tuesday July 27th in Freeport, Illinois for the Midwest Summer Nationals, beginning a huge week of pulling that will test driver and machine as we run into the second half of the 2021 pulling season!
