Battle at the Fort Crowns Twelve Elite Champions Across Two Sessions of Action

Charlestown, IN (June 8th, 2021) – The Rhino Ag Battle at the Fort presented by Super Clean was the stage for six great classes to declare winners across two sessions of competition at the heralded Ambassador Park in Fort Recovery, Ohio. MAVTV-Plus cameras were on hand to capture the action from both sessions with dramatic results.

Premier Crop Insurance was also a vital supporter of this event held on the legendary twin tracks of Ambassador Park, with the General Tire Decision Maker, Lucas Oil Mini Decision Maker, and Protect the Harvest X-Factor sleds keeping competitors in check for the event. Pullers battled for points in four Champions Tour, one Silver Series, and one Ag Protect 1 Midwest Region class on the twin bill of action.

Josh Blackbourn and the Considered Armed and Dangerous

In the opening class of session one, eighteen Unlimited Super Stocks challenged the General Tire Decision Maker. Josh Blackbourn and the Considered Armed and Dangerous – HD CaseIH took the fifth hook in the class to the win.

Adam Diaz driving the Whiskey Business CaseIH

Any question as to the popularity of the Light Pro Stock division was answered at The Battle at the Fort with thirty-six competitors answering the call to test the Protect the Harvest X-Factor sled. The contingent of Light Pro competitors battled for Silver Series supremacy, with Adam Diaz driving the Whiskey Business CaseIH into the winners’ circle on the 21st hook of the class.

The Lucas Oil Mini Decision Maker put the stops on twenty-five Summit Racing Mini Rod entries for the event. Pinch hitting in his sister Camille’s place driving the Splinter machine was Grayson Shelton (shown in our lead photo) taking the win in an elite gathering of the sport’s most raucous class.

Austin Boyd at the wheel of the Lucas Oil Green Streak Limited

Big River Steel Super Modified Tractors followed up behind the Light Pro Stocks on the Protect the Harvest X-Factor with sixteen of the most potent Modified monsters on the planet churning the dirt at The Fort. Riding an impressive wave of success coming into this event was Austin Boyd who continued his winning ways, this time at the wheel of the Lucas Oil Green Streak Limited. Boyd’s stellar pass came on the fourth pass in the class.

Erv Clark and his phenomenal Taz Toy Chevy

Optima Batteries Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks competed at The Fort for Ag Protect 1 Midwest Region points with twelve top-notch machines tackling the task of dueling with the Protect the Harvest X-Factor. Erv Clark and his phenomenal Taz Toy Chevy made the long trip from the Empire State count with a win on the third hook in the class.

Todd Dugan and his Angry Farmer Products Ford

Wrapping up session one competition was the ARP Super Stock Diesel Truck class with an impressive eighteen entries squaring off with the General Tire Decision Maker. Todd Dugan and his Angry Farmer Products Ford set the standard to beat on the first hook of the class and dodged seventeen potent bullets for the win.

RJ Simon and the beautiful Simon Sez Chevy

Kicking off the second session was the Optima Batteries Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks continuing their fight for Ag Protect 1 Midwest Region supremacy. Making the long haul from Iowa and taking the second session win in the class was RJ Simon and the beautiful Simon Sez Chevy, out-dueling nine other pullers on the Protect the Harvest X-Factor with the sixth hook in competition.

Bryan MacDonald in the Very Lil Sanity machine

Twenty-five Summit Racing Mini Rods returned to wage war with the Lucas Oil Mini Decision Maker in the second session. In his second time out with the Very Lil Sanity machine Bryan MacDonald made a stellar pass on the fifteenth hook of the class that stood for the win.

Greg Boyd in the Lucas Oil Green Streak

The story of the Big River Steel Super Modified Tractor class continued to have an overriding common theme for the season with a Green Streak in the winners’ circle. This time Greg Boyd was the victor in the class of fifteen on the Lucas Oil Green Streak on the sixth hook against the Protect the Harvest X-Factor.

Colin Ross and the diesel-powered Triple Bypass McCormick

In Unlimited Super Stock class, the duel of the fuels heated up a little more in the second session at The Fort. Having already covered the class of alcohol-powered tractors once this season at the GALOT Mule City 300, Colin Ross and the diesel-powered Triple Bypass McCormick laid down a 324+ foot pass tested by the General Tire Decision Maker on the first official hook in the class and it stood the test of sixteen other entries.

Mike Eckels at the controls of the Shagnasty IH

While down a few competitors from breakage the Light Pro Stock class was still by far the largest class at The Fort in the second session, again tested by the Protect the Harvest X-Factor. In its’ former life the Shagnasty IH was a potent performer in the 9500 Limited Pro Stock ranks, but the new Light Pro version proved its’ mettle, winning at The Fort with Mike Eckels at the controls on a late draw.

Justin Gearhart in the Cream of the Crop Dodge

Finishing up the event was the ARP Super Stock Diesel Truck class with seventeen competitors returning for session two. Justin Gearhart’s pass in the Cream of the Crop Dodge against the General Tire Decision Maker was the sixth hook in competition and proved to be the winning hook.
