Blackbourn, Gallitz, Bartling, Klott, and Witt Big Winners at Southern Illinois Showdown

Charlestown, IN (June 7th, 2021) – The Track at Holzhauers in Nashville, Illinois was the stage on Saturday, May 5th for the Southern Illinois Showdown presented by the Lutz Agency. Five classes representing the Champions Tour, Champion Seed Western Series, and Silver Series hit the track to the delight of a packed house of fans ready to be back pulling. Quickly becoming one of the premier venues in truck and tractor pulling, the twin-track format at Holzhauers was patrolled by the Champion Seed X-Factor and Rhino Ag X-Factor sleds out of the Bungart stable for the evening. 

Ten elite Pro Stock Diesel Trucks were showcased at Holzhauers yielding to the pressure of the Rhino Ag X-Factor. Carry the banner for the Cummins and Dodge brigade for the win were Keith Witt piloting the Cross Wired truck to the victory. Making a good effort in his first hook of his first full season of Silver Series PSDT competition was Brady Ingram and the Scheid Diesel Dodge in second.

 

Light Limited Super Stock tractor the New Generation Harvester

 

The Light Limited Super Stock class featured seven tractors hitting the track to square off with the Rhino Ag X-Factor. Ben Klott and the New Generation Harvester were first hook and their 286.44 run stood for the win followed by Cole Robinson on the Shake and Bake machine.

 

8500 Limited Pro Stocks driver Esdon Bartling in The Possum

 

The biggest class of the evening was the 8500 Limited Pro Stocks with twenty entries who were tested by the Champion Seed X-Factor. On the next-to-last pass of competition Esdon Bartling took the win on his CaseIH machine named The Possum. Class standout Otto Peterson and the Now or Never 66-Series IH followed Bartling closely in second. 

 

Lightweight Super Stock competition tractor Considered Armed and Dangerous

 

In ARP Lightweight Super Stock competition, Terry Blackbourn took a late hook on the Champion Seed X-Factor for the win over 11 other tractors on the Team Chizek Considered Armed and Dangerous CaseIH Tayton Terry in his sophomore season on the Champions Tour finished second on the potent Too-Hystrung Allis Chalmers. 

 

9500 Limited Pro Stock tractor Runnin in the Red

 

Finishing the evening off on the Rhino Ag X-Factor were the thundering 9500 Limited Pro Stocks with nineteen entries. An early hook by Nick Gallitz and the Runnin in the Red IH took the Illinois money home back to Wisconsin for the win. Adrian Cox and the exceptional Hickory Hooker Farmall was just over a foot behind Gallitz for the second place spot.

Next up for the ARP Lightweight Supers is a date next weekend for two sessions at 300 Raceway for the Farley Nationals in Farley, Iowa. 8500 Limited Pro Stocks and Light Limited Super Stocks will be in competition at the Pike County Fairgrounds in Pleasant Hill, Illinois on June 11th. Additionally, Pro Stock Diesel Trucks, 8500 Limited Pro Stocks and 9500 Limited Pro Stocks will be in competition for one evening at the Mexico Young Farmers Pull in Mexico, Missouri on June 12th.
