Charlestown, IN (October 29, 2020) – Since its inception as a class with the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League, the ARP Super Stock Diesel Truck class has had two builders dueling for the top spot with their customer and in-house machines: Haisley Machine and Scheid Diesel. 2020 would not deviate from that theme with the in-house trucks from both camps at the top of the heap.
The season kicked off in Greentown, Indiana at the Watson Diesel Nationals where Van Haisley and his Rock Hard Ram took the early lead in points with a win, with defending class champion Kent Crowder and the Scheid Diesel Dodge in second. Haisley would go on to crank out two more wins at the 300 Raceway Farley Nationals with Crowder close behind entering the final two sessions of action at the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza at Wagler Motorsports Park in Lyons, Indiana. Haisley entered SDX with a with a six point lead on Crowder but a win by Crowder in the first session at SDX and breakage on Haisley’s truck would lead to a ten-point lead for Crowder at the end of the class; the championship was race was still up for grabs and would be decided in the second and final session of that event. Former class champion Cody Hastings and the Against the Grain RAM took the win in that final session, securing his spot as the third-place truck in points. Crowder would finish second in the session securing his second title in a row with Haisley in fourth for the event. Rounding out the top five for the final points standings were Erik Stacey and the SmokinYa HD Chevrolet in fourth and Shane Kellogg in fifth piloting the Trump Ram.
This is Crowder’s third ARP Super Stock Diesel Truck Championship, with a title in 2017 joining the back-to-back title runs. Congratulations to Kent on your points championship!
