First Annual 300 Raceway Farley Nationals Big Hit with Pullers, Fans

Charlestown, IN (August 18, 2020) – Anticipation was high this past weekend for two big sessions of pulling at the Super Clean 300 Raceway Farley Nationals presented by MAC Trailers in Farley, Iowa. With exceptional improvements to the facility and an all-new pulling track, the event delivered on a promise of top-flight pulling competition.

The Friday, August 14th session had nearly 130 entries set to take the track in six Champions Tour classes. A trio of Bauer sleds were tasked with job of putting the clamp down on pullers and performed flawlessly throughout the weekend. In the opening ARP Lightweight Super Stock Tractor division Josh Blackbourn and the “Armed and Dangerous-Excessive Force” CaseIH vaulted to the win and a sweep of the top three spots for Team Chizek with Terry Blackbourn wheeling the other two Chizek entries. The Mini-Rod class was led by motorsports legend Ken Veney and his “Funny Lil Farmall” who took an early hook to the victory. Unlimited Super Stock Tractor competition featured a field of the 18 best pullers in the nation, where Terry Blackbourn piloted the “Extremely Armed and Dangerous” CaseIH to the win. Super Modified Tractors offered up a stellar group of 14 entries where veteran puller Ricky Long put the Lucas Oil/LORTV hemi-powered machine into the top spot. The evening was wrapped up with the Optima Batteries Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks and ARP Super Stock Diesel Truck classes. Former class champion Jared Nelson and the “Midnight Revenger” Chevy roared to the win in SMTWD while Van Haisley and his potent “Rock Hard Ram” Dodge bested all foes in the SSDT division.

Session two on Saturday August 15th was welcomed again by a full house of fans who witnessed 127 different vehicles try their best to tame the Farley clay track. Terry Blackbourn and the “Considered Armed and Dangerous” CaseIH took top honors in LWSS while Abbey Leischner propelled the potent “Bobcat Jr.” to the Mini-Rod win. Six tractors took to the stage in a ULSS pulloff where Josh Blackbourn and the “Considered Armed and Dangerous-HD” CaseIH made the winning pass, leading a full sweep of the LWSS and ULSS classes by Team Chizek. Grayson Shelton drove the “Ruckus” machine to the hard-earned victory on a late hook in SMT, while Van Haisley doubled up in SSDT. Bethany Nelson and her old school “Sweet Revenge” Chevy finished off the event with a big win in SMTWD.
