Charlestown, IN (June 23, 2020) – 2020 has been the most challenging year for all motorsports than could have ever been imagined. Even with the obstacles created in the wake of COVID-19 the season for the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League begins this weekend, June 26th and 27th, at the Rumble by the Refuge in Mound City, Missouri.
The Rumble by the Refuge returns to the pulling schedule in 2020 after being cancelled in 2019 due to catastrophic flooding in Mound City and the surrounding area. “We are a go for this weekend and welcome fans and pullers back to the Old Rodeo Grounds for our event,” pull promoter and spokesperson Chris Waegle commented. “Like the rest of you we are excited to be pulling and look forward to seeing you on Friday and Saturday night.”

"We are excited to get back to Mound City after a two-year absence," said Johnathan Mears, PPL Co-Director. "With that excitement comes a whole new level of participation from the PPL competitors flocking in from across the country. While the Old Rodeo Grounds pit area is large, we encourage pullers to begin arriving Thursday morning, if possible, so that we can allot appropriate space for each team. The drivers meeting for each session is 4pm CT. We also invite pullers and fans alike to stop and see our Team Lucas partners Super Clean at their tent as they introduce some innovative new products to the public."
