Charlestown, IN (May 19, 2020) - In a pulling season beset with challenges and changes, The Rumble by the Refuge, set for the weekend of June 26th and 27th in Mound City, Missouri is the launching point in 2020 for the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Champions Tour, the Silver Series, and the Champion Seed Western Series. With the anticipation of this first event there have been a number of changes to the classes set for competition.

The event will feature Optima Batteries Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks, Pro Stock Tractors, and ARP Lightweight Super Stocks from the Champions Tour and Champion Seed Western Series. Competitors who are pre-committed to either series in those three classes will be eligible to pull.

Pro Pulling League Co-Director Kristi Asher further noted, "Anyone in those three classes who would like to sign up for Western Series points in order to compete at the event must be signed up by June 8th. Please contact us here at the office with any questions at 812-206-4024."

"The 95 Limited Pro Stock Tractor class will run without hook limitation for Silver Series and Western Series points and competitors may enter the class for points or on a per-hook/session basis," Asher continued. "Other Western Series classes scheduled - Limited Pro Stock Diesel Trucks and Pro Farm Tractors, as well as the Light Modified Tractor class representing the Nebraska Bush Pullers - will also be run with no limitations. Competitors in those classes may also sign up for points or on a per hook/session basis. We have received a huge number of phone calls from competitors across the country in support of this event and we appreciate their interest in helping make this an outstanding show."

"We are really looking forward to having the Rumble by the Refuge in 2020," pull promoter and spokesperson Chris Waegle commented. "Proceeds from this event provide scholarships for students here in Holt County and we want to continue to support them now more than ever. We welcome pullers and fans to our event; we are working closely with local authorities to ensure we follow their guidelines for a safe event considering the current COVID-19 situation. We are adding additional hand sanitizing stations and, though they are not required, individuals who want to wear a face mask are welcome to do so. Again, on behalf of the Mound City Rural Firemen we welcome you to join us for two big nights of pulling action on June 26th and 27th."
