Shelton, Blackbourn, Cox, Leeper Clinch Points Titles in Session One of General Tire Pro Pulling Nationals Presented by Lucas Oil

Charlestown, IN (September 29th, 2021) – Session One of the General Tire Pro Pulling Nationals Presented by Lucas Oil kicked off a doubleheader of class showdowns to determine points champions across 11 classes of the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League. Set at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks, the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, this season finale brings out the best in each competitor; the hard work and intensity of an entire season boiled down to one hook.

Four classes headlined the event in session one: Limited Pro Stock Tractors and AirDog Limited Pro Stock Diesel Trucks running for Champion Seed Western Series honors with ARP Lightweight Super Stock Tractors and Summit Racing Mini Rod Tractors in Champions Tour competition.

The evening started with the Limited Pro Stock Tractors on the grandstand track with the Protect the Harvest X-Factor sled keeping tabs on the class of twenty tractors. Prior to competition, a moment of silence was observed for Limited Pro Stock puller Quinton Hartman who passed away in days prior to the event. Additionally, the competitors donated the class purse to the Hartman family and selected to compete for Western Series points only, which allowed Hartman and family to be crowned the 2021 Limited Pro Stock Tractor Silver Series Champion posthumously with the International Addiction IH. Gage Schottel and the Ole Black Magic Case won the class while Adrian Cox and the Hickory Hooker IH collected the 2021 points title on the strength of a third place finish.

AirDog Limited Pro Stock Diesel Trucks hit the infield track first, tested by the RhinoAg X-Factor for the evening. Eight potent machines filled the class roster, with Tim Tuttle and the Common Cents Dodge winning the class. Skylar Leeper earned the 2021 class championship with his sixth place finish in the Legal Limits Dodge.

ARP Lightweight Super Stocks hit the infield track following the Limited Pro Stock Diesel Trucks with eighteen entries. Terry Blackbourn and the Armed and Dangerous – Excessive Force CaseIH had the points title wrapped up by hooking to the sled in Wheatland but pulled out all the stops for the class win as well.

Wrapping up the evening was an impressive group of nineteen Summit Racing Mini Rod Tractors that were clamped down by the Lucas Oil Mini X-Factor. The points leader coming into Wheatland was Austin Boyd at the wheel of the Green Streak – Black machine with Grayson Shelton and the Culp Lumber Sawed Off machine a mere six points behind Boyd in second. Shelton would ultimately take the points title as four pullers would ultimately separate the two pullers in the final standings for the evening putting him two points ahead of Boyd – an eight point swing. Tyler Slagh and his Have No Mercy roared to the class win and solidified his standing in third place points for 2021.

While the excitement of session one was tremendous, an even bigger evening of competition awaited pullers and fans for session two that we’ll cover next!
