Session One of Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Nationals Crowns Five Champions and Four Class Event Winners

Charlestown, IN (September 24, 2022) – Session one of the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Nationals at the revered Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, sponsored by Super Clean and presented by General Tire, was a well-attended event where many storylines of the 2022 pulling season drew to a close. There were four classes contested with five points champions declared in the process.

The evening started with ARP Lightweight Super Stock Tractors from the Champions Tour facing off with the RhinoAg X-Factor sled and the Limited Pro Stock Tractors squared up with the Protect the Harvest X-Factor sled on the twin tracks for Silver Series and Champion Seed Western Series accolades.

The Lightweight Super Stocks saw Bryan Bowles and the Alter Ego New Holland take an early lead on a 350 foot blast in the class of seventeen stout machines. In the midst of class, Terry Blackbourn had the unique opportunity to see which of his Team Chizek CaseIH machines could possibly take the class lead and be named the points champion on the season, as the Armed and Dangerous-Excessive Force and Considered Armed and Dangerous machines were deadlocked at the top of the class in points entering Wheatland. The Excessive Force machine had a sub-par run to 284.45 and eight hooks later the Considered Armed and Dangerous machine would produce a pass of 335.01 that would lock it in as the 2022 points champion. Bowles would continue to hold the lead until the last pass of the evening when Bobby Jones and the Field Sobriety CaseIH would roar out to 361.89, taking the win.

The Limited Pro Stock division featured two main players for points titles, the International Addiction IH of Andrew Hartman in the Silver Series and Adrian Cox with the Hickory Hooker IH in the Champion Seed Western Series. Both pullers proved their mettle as Cox would take the overall class lead on a run to 369.9 and hold it until Hartman laid down a run to nearly 380 feet; both gentlemen would collect their respective points titles in resounding fashion in a class of fifteen.

ARP Super Stock Diesel Trucks were called to the track following the Limited Pro Stocks. Eight tough trucks made the trip to Wheatland and the points leader and defending class champion Erik Stacey and the SmokinYa HD Chevy had one goal in mind, to keep the second place Caretaker Dodge in the rearview mirror to lock up another points championship. By virtue of Stacey’s pass of 336.27, good enough for third place, he claimed the title once again. The Caretaker machine, driven on this occasion by Adam White, finished seventh and would secure the second place spot up in points. The event winner, just as in ARP Lightweight Super Stock, came on the last hook where Justin Gearhart’s Cream of the Crop Dodge made a stellar run to 339.60.

Closing out the night was a potent group of Summit Racing Mini Rods. Many pullers made challenging runs, but class points leader Jordan Nelson and the Loud and Mini machine re-affirmed their strength at the top of the class, making a 310 foot run to pass veteran puller Bruce Slagh and the Show No Mercy machine for the win. This was Nelson’s first season in the class after campaigning a Optima Batteries Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Truck for many years.

Action continues tonight for session two at 6pm CDT; catch it live and in-person, or by watching the action live on www.floracing.com. Live results of the event are available as well at www.propullingliveresults.com.
