Pilgrimage of Diesel Power Enthusiasts To Gather At Scheid Diesel Extravaganza This Weekend
Sellersburg, IN (August 21st, 2024) – The 28th Scheid Diesel Extravaganza, in Lyons, Indiana on Friday, August 23rd, and Saturday, August 24th, continues its legacy as the original celebration of the diesel culture and performance.
Held at the Wagler Motorsports Park in Lyons, enthusiasts make the pilgrimage there to see the drag racing, dyno contests, show-and-shine contests, a kiddie pedal pull, and a vast vendor display. All of those fantastic activities surround a full weekend of Pro Pulling League action from the Champions Tour, Hart's Diesel Silver Series, and AP1 Insurance Midwest Region.
Both days see pulling action launch at 11am local time with qualifying sessions for the Wagler Competition Products Limited Pro Stock Diesel Trucks and Fleece Performance Engineering Pro Street Diesel Trucks, with final eliminations in each evening session starting at 5pm.
The evening sessions offer up a pair of classes where season champions will be crowned. In the Friday evening session, the Super Farm Tractor division has its' final battle of the season where Brad Woods and the "Thunder Struck" Deere hold a solid 34-point lead over the "Twisted Deere" of Casey and Corey Fritz. In the ARP Super Stock Diesel Truck class, Kent Crowder is in familiar territory leading the class in the "Scheid Diesel" Dodge with another former points champion, the "SmokinYa HD" Chevy entry of Erik and Lily Stacey in striking distance, just eight points back of Crowder in the final two sessions of the class for 2024. Also scheduled to appear on the weekend are Pro Stock Tractors presented by Lemke Motorsports (both nights), Hart's Diesel Pro Stock Diesel Trucks (both nights), Kawasaki Parts Warehouse 95 Limited Pro Stock Tractors (Saturday night only), and Warrior Tracks Hot Farm Tractors (Saturday night only).
